Hello friends and fans. I’m just returning from a family visit to Athens, Georgia, a real art and music town and home to the University of Georgia. I’m looking forward to the next month, with a Rivereens gig at Lagunitas Brewery, the perfect venue for our brand of blues, folk and Django.
There are also several appearances with Susie Sutton and Bill Fouty. The three of us are developing a personal style of approaching standards and jazz tunes, extending structured improvisational sections beyond the tune itself into a lyrical realm wholly our own. It’s really exciting, and listeners seem to be taking notice.
And last but not least, I want to mention the American Philharmonic performances of gorgeous, romantic tone poems including Debussy’s La Mer. I’ll be leading the AP second violins for the first time, and I’m really looking forward to the challenges of leadership and trying to achieve (near)perfection.
Check out the list of gigs with dates, times and venues at the upcoming performances link. Come on out for an evening of listening to, supporting and loving live music.
Thanks for your visit to moonglowviolin.com.
